Train in my Face

I cant breath and i dont know why, my eyes closed shut, cant open them to the six thousand pounds of steel coming down the tracks. engines racing, gears spiltting louder than the crack of thunder across an open plain, if i open my eyes, i know i am right here right now, in front of disaster, a willing participant in a nightmare of unmitagted rapture, in death, in broken laughter, its coming, the train faster, but i dont move.

if only i didnt know, never seen the criss cross of tracks, the forever of running across a country, broken in switches that lack, but i've been on these tracks a million time before, a little kid running over them to reach my door on time, and now somehow, im stuck like a rock inbetween metal and boot leather, waiting to be taken home.

but im face to face, with a train, that doesnt care, i stand arms outstetched for you, taunt, broken, new. a hundred miles per hour you. the lights stop blinking, stop warning, im through, just another fool on the tracks tryin to stop you.

a thousand years from now, someone might begin again anew, find pieces of my spine, crushed for gravel, remninants of something beautiful, maybe a poem in someones hands, digging through, sifts of ashes, scatters of me and you.
